It’s a Wrap

Jessica

Usually, the Consumer Direct office view looks out at GMC’s Waterbury, VT distribution center. The distribution center is normally lined with Fed Ex trucks backed up to loading docks.  But today, our view was obstructed by a freshly wrapped Green Mountain Coffee truck!   Yes, the little things excite us marketing folks and prompt us to blog. But this was a big project, and an important piece in showing off our new ”I Realized” campaign.

new-trucks-may-2009-back1New wrap

Across the Northeast, keep your eyes peeled for dozens of these newly wrapped trucks. The graphics truly ”pop” off the truck. The vibrant blue and bold green colors will undoubtedly catch your eye.  Give us a honk when you see us.

The k-cup innovation is truly the solution in my household being the only coffee drinker in the house! I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to be able to just pop a k-cup in the machine and voila I’m done and only one cup at a time too! My older child even knows how to use the machine well and surprises me sometimes in the morning with a cup of coffee for me. What a nice surprise to see your child bring you a cup of coffee in the morning! This has helped make a connection for us two. Thanks for bringing another connection between me and my child! Whenever my mother-in-law visits, I’m always happy to give her a cup of coffee since it’s so easy and convenient. Our kids even call her Grandma Coffee since she drinks more coffee than me! Too cute!

    We love Green Mountain Coffee.
Favorite is the Rain Forest Nut Beans. We live 7 months a year in Florida and 5 months in Maine. When we leave Maine to head back to Florida we stock up on the coffee to take back with us. If we run out I either will order through GMC or have someone in my family ship a supply to us.

    Keep the good coffee coming.

My husband and I have been enjoying Green Mountain coffee for about two years now.

We don’t drink a lot of coffee compared to some, but when we do, we want it to be a really good cup!

More recently we have been sharing our home and coffee with friends for after dinner get togethers.

We have truely become the house of choice when it comes to the “go to place” for a evening of coffee drinking and spending time with friends.

It is a great feeling to be known as “the best coffee house in town”. Thanks Green Mountain for providing us with the best!

The fact that you are partnered with Jane Goodall in Tanzania and are providing an means of support for the local people there means a great deal to me and is why I bought coffee from you for Christmas gifts last year. It makes me sick to read about Africans killing other primates for “bush meat”. And if I was starving, I would do the same. This offers a viable solution for species survival. Kudos to you!

I have grown to love green mountain coffee, I can’t start my day with out it, if I go to a friends house, or even spend the night some where, I take my own coffee with me, its the only coffee I drink now. Even my friends rave about my coffee and how good it tastes. Kudos to you green mountain. Keep up the good work. Ethan

    Dear Green Mountain Coffee,

I’ll never forget the day when my wife and I came across your wonderul coffee in a small shop in Middleberry, Vermont, while on vacation about 16 years ago. I believe the shop at the time was not far from Ben and Jerry’s ice cream plant.

Being sensitive to caffine, I was amazed how I could drink Green Mountain decaf and still enjoy the flavor and strength of regular coffee. I no longer had to sacrifice taste and aroma to drink your special water-purified decaf.

Sixteen years later, now retired to the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, we still prepare Green Mountain coffee every morning. But best of all when my wife goes to her monthly Red Hats meetings, some tell her, “Bring some of that great coffee we love, will you?”

My wife then, just before leaving for a meeting, takes some beans out of the freezer, grinds them up, secures them in a plastic bag, and puts them into her purse. I had asked her one day, “What are you doing?” She said, “They just love our coffee!”

The two of us built an entertainment room in our basement last year. When finished, I bought myself a K-cup machine so I could have Green Mountain instant coffee in the sealed containers, not wanting to have to run up to the kitchen anytime I wanted a cup while watching a movie.

I have always bought your bean coffee for morning brews, keeping it in the freezer until the day we need to grind it. It worked sixteen years ago, and it still works today, giving us a cup of coffee as fresh as off the vine.

Thank you for keeping your Green Mountain quality all these years.

    Best regards,

    Gary and Connie Kallback
    Weaverville, North Carolina.

Thank you Green Mtn Coffee Roasters. I am a native VT’er now living in Las Vegas. I have tried to like the burnt tasting coffee with the sicky sweet syrups added in at the nearby coffee chain. I just can’t. It feels like rocket fuel burning a hole in my gut.

Alas, I discovered I could order on-line the full range of coffee’s that I so enjoyed back home – first discovered during my time at UVM and then during my morning commutes to work.

So when I am missing home, I turn up the air conditioner to simulate a chilly VT fall day, brew a pot of Pumpkin Spice coffee and tuck in with a good book. It is my escape.

I really don’t know where to start……I could write a book on what I love about Green Mountain Coffee. It is absolutley the best coffee I ever drank!! It’s the first thing I think about when I open my eyes in the morning (inspires me to get out of bed.)

I always start with the Extra Bold 10% Kona ~ I had never liked Kona before in my life!! But GM Kona is so mellow and not bitter, I’m nuts about it! Then about mid morning I have a couple cups of the Rain Forest Nut ~ Please don’t think I’m crazy but the aroma of it takes me back to something from my childhood. I can’t put my finger on what it is, but it is so calming, like a more simple time gone by.

There are some I like more than others, but there’s not any that I don’t like.

When I’m out shopping, picking up more K-Cups (yes, my order comes every 3 weeks and I always run out before the next one gets here) I love it when people ask, “what kinda coffee is that?” I go in to high gear telling them about the one cup maker and the best coffee they will ever drink. Everyone probably thinks I have stock in the company. *LOL*

I am now on my 2nd Keurig coffee maker. I just plain wore out the first one. I have bought 2 others as gifts, I was responsible for my son-in-law buying my daughter one for Christmas. Also, you better believe me when I say that if the 2nd one tore up tomorrow, I would call my husband and tell him not to come home without another one. He teases me saying he is going to have to get an extra job to keep me in GMC.

Well, I could just go on and on about how much I love GMC. However, it’s time for another cup and as much as I love to talk about it, I love drinking it more!!

Thanks for making great GMC~ MY NEW OBSESSION (in a sane kinda way)

Living in New York State, Green Mountain coffee takes me back to my southern roots with every sip.

Southern Pecan is my favorite and with each cup I remember myself as a “southern belle” sitting on the back porch swing, slightly swinging as the sun begin to come up bringing life into the day.

Rainy days, I still feel the sunlight with Green Mountain Coffee.

    Sincerely,
    All my best

Green Mountain coffee means more than taste. Whether the bag sports the Free Trade tag or not, it concerns itself with the most important people in the experience: the farmers.

  20. on 01 Sep 2009 at 8:48 am Gail

okay you asked me what Green Mountain coffee means to me. Well, first of all I had never tasted Green Mountain until three years ago. I was on vacation in the New England States, moving around from state to state. I always take my own coffee on vacation. Well I was in Bar Harbor Maine, and was to tired to mess with unpacking my coffee, so I decided I drink the hotel coffee. (which I usually don’t because it usually nasty coffee). So we brewed the hotel pack, and I will never forget I was setting out side on the little porch watching it rain and thinking what crappy weather. I took the sip of the hotel coffee and it was like a wake up call, the coffee was very good. Rich but mild not bitter just a perfect cup of coffee. We even drank the decafe and I don’t care for decafe. Well, anyway, every time I get the chance to drink Green Mountain now, I think of my New England vacation, which by-the-way was a Great vacation. I have found a few locations in the area of Maryland were I live that does sell it. I wish the food stores would carry it. Thanks Green Mountain for the Memories.

Here are a few coffee thoughts for you:

GM Coffee: it wakes up the sun
GM Coffee: a fresh start to a fresh day
    GM Coffee: positively soul-warming
GM Coffee: gets you up, gets you moving
    GM Coffee: absolutely “scentoxicating”

My sister bought a Keurig coffee maker for my parents who are 91 and 89, and they love it. They must drink decaf, and my mother would often forget to turn off her coffee pot, which did not have an automatic off feature, but did have an auto start. She would set it to make a pot at 6:00 a.m., though they had come to rising at about 9:00. My mother seemed just astounded by how good the coffee was when it was made fresh, and delighted in being able to offer caffeinated coffee, half-caff, flavored and other varieties to her visitors. I am so grateful to Green Mountain to offering so many kinds of coffees.

I also need to drink decaf most of the time, though, and I am very jealous of caffeine drinkers who get so many more choices of flavors. Last Christmas, you offered a delicious pumpkin spice decaf, but the summer seasonal coffees came only with caffeine. I wish you would offer seasonal varieties a little more often and in decaf.

love that it tastes delicious, is more healthy for you than other coffees and the PRICE! come on, you can’t beat it. most of the coffee shops — no, ALL — are outrageously priced for a cup of coffee. your largest sized coffee is still dollars less than the other coffee shops within a three-mile radius from my house. love the summer coconut. should be year-round. keep brewing.

Drinking Green mountain Coffee brings me back home to Vermont. I lived in Bennington for 10 years and I miss the sights smells and memories of living there. I love my kuerig k-cup brewer and look forward to waking up to a delicious cup of Green mountain coffee and watching Joyce Meyer Ministries. I really like that I can buy and drink a variety of Green mountain coffees and teas and my kids love the hot chocolate. I like the savings I receive through the cafe express. Having a cup of greenmountain coffee starts my day right.

Along with the ability to have and be able to offer choices of your coffees, there is a safety factor. Having multiple different schedules, leaving a plugged coffeemaker was always the chance for a dangerous situation. I came home to many a percolator still on or drip maker still on warming. With this coffee system, we know it remains safe during our abscence.

We live in TN and have your coffees shipped monthly to our home as we can not find them locally here for our Keurig machine. Have to say, it is a great way to start our busy and fast paced days..

Oh boy ….what can’t I say about the coffee? Love the Coconut, had Mocha Nut Fudge for breakfast today, Raspberry Chocolate Truffle is awesome, Pumpkin for Fall is outstanding, have yet to try the Rain Forest Nut because I don’t want to have too many open at once (and only keep rotating 6 at a time!!!) AND, it’s JUST ME!!!!

Have always loved my coffee….can’t start my day without it and you wouldn’t want me to!!! Oh gee, almost forgot the Blueberry too….yum….have yet to open the Vanilla Creme but can’t wait…..

Until a year ago, I was a 4 cup a day coffee drinker. Then I underwent Gastric Bypass and lost 150 pounds, but had to forfeit all cafeinated coffee as I developed severe intestinal bleeding and was unable to find a suitable decaf. Then, my daughter bought me a Keurig Coffee Brewer and a package of Decaf Green Mountain K Cups….what a revelation !!! I love the taste and it gives me the freedom to enjoy coffee again. My husband also loves the other flavors of Green Mountain and I buy them regularly; online and at the local markets.
Now I look forward to returning from my daily walks with the dog and enjoying my decafinated Green Mountain Breakfast Blend.

I actually enjoy having my favorite Green Mountain cup of coffee in the evening to unwind, reflect, and relax – and my favorite time is just before bed. That cup of coffee is like a reward and it helps me to put everything I’ve felt throughout the day in a different perspective. You know what I mean? It helps me to not take life so seriously and to remember that the simplest things in life are the most precious. Here’s to all of the other Green Mountain coffee lovers who are night people!!!!

  38. on 01 Sep 2009 at 2:46 pm Cheryl Leegwater

This coffee is totally the right blend and right amount for a cup of coffee…it is never bitter or weak. I don’t like strong coffee so I usually go for the Breakfast Blend or the Nancucket Blend, although the new Donut Shop coffee is really good. Between the Green Mountain coffee and my Keurig coffee maker, I am one happy coffee drinker.

    Thanks!!!

I have worked in the catering and conference field many years and made hundreds of gallons of coffee and Green Mountain is the best. I never get complaints about taste; customers love the smell; And with Newman’s Own being organic who could ask for anything more!

The K-Cups and Green Moutain have given me the greatest gift…Tea! My husband always ranked, he got the coffee maker, the exotic coffees, the fancy brew, I got a tea bag. I love the fact that I can also use/brew a cup of tea, any flavor I want and head out the door to work! I feel like a grown-up on a coffee break!

    Thank you, Thank you!

Everytime I have a cup of Dark Magic, I go back to the days when my grandfather would watch me and my sister before school. Every Friday was special because that was shopping day, and Papa would be in the woodshed baking fresh biscuits and a big pot of strong black coffee on the wood fired kitchen stove he had set up. The smells were wonderful! Mom would kiss us goodbye, Papa would grab my cup from above the stove, hanging on my special nail, and pour me a cup with plenty of milk and sugar. We then slathered butter on the biscuits, with homemade jam, and start telling stories. All too soon the school bus would arrive, and the words “Don’t tell your mother about the coffee.” would be said as I climbed on board. Of course, Mom knew all about the whole thing, but to a 8 year old boy, that secret between a Grandpa and grandson meant everything. Your coffee always brings back memories.

Ahhh, what a Green Mountain K-Cup cup of coffee meant…hmmmmm….great memories overseas! I deployed for 4 months as a government civilian volunteer and worked anywhere from 12 – 16 hrs days all over Iraq (moved 9 times to different bases). When I flew home to my homebase in Balad, Iraq, I so looked forward to a cup of Green Mountain coffee that my boss had introduced to me before I left on some of those missions. The K-Cup concept was new to me and what a delight! It seemed for just a moment in time, I could sip my coffee (oh so many flavors to pick from that he had purchased for us!) & forget I was in Iraq and just shut my eyes and dream of home! Upon returning home, I purchased one and now my husband and I enjoy it together, along with everyone I introduce it to!!! Thank-you!!! :)

We travel often from West Virginia to Vermont to visit our daughter and family. My husband is an avid coffee drinker. For years I disliked the taste and aroma of coffee, until he insisted that I try a sip of his Green Mt Coffee in Vermont. Now I look forward to a great cup of Green Mountain Coffee in the evening after a stressful day at work. Many of our friends, co-workers and family are now “hooked” on this wonderful coffee. When we travel to Vermont, we take a list and bring back large quantities of coffee. The great news is that now we are finding limited quantities in some of our grocery stores, Kohl’s, & Staples. The selection is limited and they disappear quickly from the shelves, but it’s a start!

Green Mountain Coffee’s Pumpkin Spice Decaf has brought me a great deal of pleasure since the fall of 2008 through the spring of 2009 (yes, I had ordered that many boxes of K-cups). I, who is not a pumpkin pie eater, found this delicious cup of coffee or two to envelop me each morning with its warmth and satisfaction. I found myself waiting with great anticipation until August 24 for the release of pumpkin spice once again. To my disappointment, I have learned that Green Mountain will be offering my favorite brew only in caffeinated. Frankly and against the bone specialist’s wishes, I will still be buying the non-decaf — just not as much. I have been told that caffeinated beverages deteriorate bones, and at 63 I just can’t afford that. That’s my revelation, I am sorry to say since I was hoping to stock up with so much decaffeinated pumpkin spice to last me the whole year through.

I realized I’d found the best coffee I’d ever tasted when I bought a cup of Green Mountain coffee from a booth at a fair about 15 years ago. It was the middle of the afternoon, and I was taking a break from the office to go get a cup of coffee. The fair was in the street in front of my building, so I just wandered till I found someplace selling coffee.

Until then, I never thought an afternoon cup of coffee could taste as good as the first one in the morning. But yours was even better! I never tasted anything so good. When I saw that you’re located Waterbury, VT I just about flipped. I vacation in Stowe almost every year. Now when I’m there, I always make it a point to stop by the Green Mountain store to buy beans–different from the ones I get in my regular Cafe Express order.

Green Mountain Coffee is one of the many reasons I love Vermont.

Sorry, no we don’t. Those company’s use a “closed system” meaning their brewers use only their coffees.

Most boxes at Retail have 18 or 12 k-cups per box. Most boxes we sell fresh from the roaster contain 24 k-cups per box.
